Omani Referees Selected to Officiate at IHF Women’s U18 World Handball Championship

International Handball Federation Selects Omani Referees for World Youth Championship

Muscat (ONA): The International Handball Federation has selected the Omani international refereeing duo, comprising referees Khamis Al Wahaibi and Omar Al Shahhi, to participate in officiating the matches of the Women’s Youth (U18) World Handball Championship, hosted by the Romanian capital, Bucharest, from 29 July to 9 August.

This selection comes as an affirmation of the status attained by Omani refereeing on the international stage and the growing confidence Omani referees enjoy with the International Handball Federation, in light of the distinguished technical levels they demonstrated during their previous participations in continental and international championships.

The tournament features the participation of 32 national teams from around the world distributed across eight groups, encompassing elite international teams in one of the most prominent international youth championships, which represents an important milestone for discovering and honing talent in world handball.
