Sur Industrial City Signs 6 Investment Contracts Worth Over RO 56 Million

Sur:  Sur Industrial City, affiliated with the Public Establishment for Industrial Estates (Madayn), signed six investment contracts during the first half of 2026 with a total value exceeding RO 56 million.

The contracts cover projects spanning tourism, energy, gas, communications and food sectors, with the projects occupying a combined area of more than 60,000 square metres.

Eng. Nasser bin Hamoud Al Mabsali, Director General of Sur Industrial City, said that the cumulative investment volume in the industrial city reached RO 2.3 billion by the end of the first half of 2026.

He added that the industrial city has 1,843 workers, including 1,076 Omanis.

In a statement to Oman News Agency (ONA), Al Mabsali explained that Madayn is working on a number of future projects at Sur Industrial City, including the maintenance of Wadi Crossing No. 6 within the city’s infrastructure, supplying irrigation water to the green belt area, and developing infrastructure facilities for the shipbuilding and maintenance area.

He noted that Sur Industrial City completed the detailed designs for the shipbuilding and maintenance project during the first half of 2026, in addition to completing the general and detailed designs of the city’s master plan.

The city also conducted the trial operation of the Sur-1 solar power plant as part of efforts to enhance sustainable energy solutions.

Al Mabsali affirmed that Sur Industrial City continues to develop its infrastructure, attract investments and provide an integrated industrial environment that supports economic diversification.

The industrial city also launched the Institutional Excellence Competition as part of Madayn’s efforts to promote a culture of institutional performance and support sustainable industrial development.

It is also preparing to announce new investment opportunities in training, healthcare, workers’ accommodation and quarry operations.
