Oman Sailing Championship 2026 Kicks Off in Ras Al Hadd

64 Sailors Compete in Oman Sailing Championship 2026

Ras Al Hadd: The Oman Sailing Championship 2026 commenced today in Ras Al Hadd in South Al Sharqiyah Governorate, with competitions continuing until 18 August.

The championship features the participation of more than 64 sailors, including 14 competitors from the United Arab Emirates and Sri Lanka, alongside 50 sailors representing Oman Sailing Schools.

The programme includes 12 races in each category, with a maximum of three races per category each day. Competitors are taking part in the Optimist, ILCA 4, ILCA 6 and ILCA 7 categories.

The championship provides an important competitive platform for sailors to develop their technical skills and gain valuable racing experience. It also contributes to strengthening Oman’s position as a regional destination for sailing and highlights Oman Sail’s efforts to provide an integrated environment for developing sailors and preparing them for upcoming international competitions.

The championship is organized in partnership with Oman LNG and the Oman Maritime Sports Committee.
