Chak De Padel Brings Oman’s Indian Community Together Through Sport

Muscat, Oman: Chak De Padel brought together 78 players from Oman’s Indian community at Padel Addicts on 14 August, 2026, for an evening of spirited competition and camaraderie. Featuring participants across age groups and abilities, the tournament combined energetic match play with a thoughtfully structured format that encouraged inclusive participation.

The lineup included 48 men, 12 women, and 18 children. Participants were divided into six teams of 13, with each team comprising eight men, two women, and three children. The format was designed to encourage wider participation and create a balanced mix of age groups and experience levels across the tournament. Women and younger players were represented across all six teams, while beginners and other emerging players had the opportunity to test themselves, gain valuable match exposure, and build confidence in a competitive yet supportive environment.

Chak De Padel was shaped as much by the experience surrounding the matches as by the results themselves. Friendly rivalry on the court was complemented by conversations between games and families cheering from the sidelines, creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere. Beyond the competition, participants had time to interact in a relaxed setting, get to know players beyond their own teams, and form new friendships around a shared enthusiasm for padel.

The event was organized by a four-member committee comprising Mr. Vatsal Vaidya, Mr. Mahek Ashar, Ms. Nehal Ramaiya, and Mr. Yash Asher. The six teams competing at the event were Bandeja Brigade, owned by Mr. Vinay Manek; Net Ninjas, owned by Mr. Damodar Katti; Vibora Vipers, owned by Mr. Parimal Sampat and Mr. Vinal Sampat; Rally Rebels, owned by Mr. Amber Mukkadam; Smash Society, owned by Mr. Ameen Wagle; and Court Commanders, owned by Mr. Amit Ved and Mr. Neel Maniar.

After a closely contested series of matches, Net Ninjas took first place, while Bandeja Brigade finished second. The results rounded off an evening that combined healthy competition with a genuine sense of community.

Chak De Padel reflects the growing interest in padel across Oman and the demand for accessible, community-led sporting initiatives. Building on the response to this edition, the organizers aim to create further opportunities for players to compete, develop their game, and become part of an active padel network.
