Ibra (ONA): The Governorate of North A’Sharqiyah has witnessed the rollout of 46 investment opportunities across various productive sectors, alongside 22 signed and submitted contracts pending final execution, representing an estimated total investment value of approximately RO 74.3 million.
These figures form part of a broader expansion strategy to attract agricultural, livestock, and fisheries investments throughout 2026.
The total area covered by contracts signed during 2026 surpassed 431 feddans, equivalent to over 1,818,200 square meters—a clear indication of growing investor interest in the agricultural and livestock sectors, as well as the expanding scale of value-added production projects.
Throughout 2025, the governorate sustained continuous developmental momentum across agricultural wealth, livestock, fisheries, and water resources sectors, underpinned by investment projects, developmental programs, and an array of production, veterinary, and water-related services. These initiatives have contributed to enhanced production capacity, improved efficiency in natural resource utilization, and an expanded contribution of productive sectors to the local economy.
Statistical indicators underscore the diversity of the governorate’s resource base. Total agricultural production for 2025 reached approximately 277,257 tons, with cultivated areas spanning around 17,225 feddans and palm tree numbers approximating 1,003,072.
Additionally, honey production amounted to roughly 249 tons. The governorate houses 2,244 greenhouses, 18 date processing and packaging units, and 64 nurseries and retail outlets for agricultural supplies and materials, supplemented by research centers dedicated to supporting and advancing agricultural activities.
The number of model commercial farms established between 2020 and 2025 reached 366, covering a total area of 503.4 feddans, reflecting the growing adoption of modern farming models and the expansion of specialized production enterprises.
