    • More Than 100 Join Trail of Remembrance Honouring Nadhira Al Harthy

    Al Hamra:  More than 100 participants from various nationalities and mountain sports communities took part in the “Trail of Remembrance” event at Jebel Shams in the Wilayat of Al Hamra, in honour of the late Omani adventurer Nadhira Al Harthy and her fellow mountain climbers.

    The event attracted mountain walking, running and outdoor activity enthusiasts, with participants taking part in both the full summit route and a shorter commemorative route.

    More than 80 accredited participants completed the full summit route, covering nearly 24 kilometres with an elevation gain of more than 1,300 metres to the summit of Jebel Shams, the highest mountain peak in the Sultanate of Oman.

    The route featured several timed and turnaround points, allowing organisers to make decisions based on timing, weather conditions and the physical condition of participants.

    The Himam Adventures Club conducted surveying and sweeping operations along the mountain route, with its teams accompanying the final groups to ensure that all participants completed the route safely.

    The event began at 6:30 am from the main gathering point for the Jebel Shams summit at Sama Jebel Shams Resort. It included a brief commemorative pause and the signing of the summit’s commemorative record.

    The Trail of Remembrance brought together Oman’s mountain sports community in a tribute to the legacy of Omani adventurers while highlighting the Sultanate’s growing opportunities for outdoor and adventure activities.
