Musca (ONA): The Youth Center and Shell Oman Marketing company today held a ceremony to mark the conclusion of the 3rd edition of a training program codenamed “Electric Vehicle Experts” (EV-Pro), which aims to empower Omani youth in technologies related to sustainable transport, in addition to concepts of environmental sustainability.
The programme, implemented from 19 July to 27 August 2026, saw the participation of 35 young men and women from different universities and colleges. The participants were introduced to the latest technologies of electric vehicles, including the industry’s infrastructure, simulation, planning, models of charging networks and vehicle maintenance and operation.
They also learned about electric vehicles’ economic feasibility and their role in cutting down greenhouse emissions. The program elaborated on environmental challenges, the principles of sustainability and the targets set for Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). In this context, the program implemented workshops to measure environmental impact and interactive activities to develop sustainable solutions that suit local needs, in support of the Sultanate of Oman’s objectives of achieving zero carbon neutrality by 2050.
