Oman’s 25th ENT Conference Brings Together 250 Medical Professionals

25th Omani ENT Conference Opens in Salalah

Salalah: The 25th Omani Conference on Otolaryngology (ENT) began today in Salalah, bringing together around 250 medical and paramedical professionals from Oman, GCC states, Arab countries and several countries around the world.

The two-day conference is organized by the Omani Society of Otolaryngology in cooperation with the Ministry of Health.

The opening ceremony was held under the patronage of His Excellency Dr. Saeed bin Hareb Al Lamki, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Health for Health Affairs, in the presence of a number of officials and specialists in ear, nose and throat medicine and surgery.

Dr. Jinan bint Ahmed Al-Abdwani, Senior Consultant in Otolaryngology and Head of the Otolaryngology Department at Al-Nahda Hospital and President of the Omani Society of Otolaryngology, highlighted the importance of the conference and its scientific programme, which covers a range of topics related to ENT medicine and surgery.

Dr. Muslim bin Masoud Kashoub, Head of the Ear, Nose and Throat Department at Sultan Qaboos Hospital in Salalah, said that reaching the 25th edition represents an important milestone in the society’s scientific journey and reflects continued efforts to advance the specialty and strengthen local and international cooperation.

The conference programme includes scientific sessions, seminars and panel discussions addressing ear, nose and throat diseases, airway diseases, head and neck conditions, sleep apnea, rhinoplasty, hearing and balance, among other topics.

Around 70 experts and consultant physicians are participating as speakers at the conference.

The event also features a scientific exhibition involving companies specializing in medicines, medical equipment and devices from several countries. The exhibition showcases modern technologies and tools used in the diagnosis and treatment of ENT conditions.

Two workshops were held at Sultan Qaboos Hospital in Salalah prior to the conference, focusing on the trachea, as well as speech and hearing.

A further two-day workshop on temporal bone anatomy will follow the conference, bringing together ENT specialists from various health institutions in Oman and abroad.

The conference seeks to review the latest developments in ENT medicine, treatments and technologies, while providing an opportunity to exchange scientific expertise and successful treatment experiences and explore the use of modern technologies in diagnosis and care.
