Nizwa Industrial City Attracts 20 New Projects Worth Over RO12 Million

Nizwa: Nizwa Industrial City, affiliated with the Public Establishment for Industrial Estates (Madayn), received approximately 22 investment applications during the first half of 2026, of which 20 were settled projects with a combined investment value exceeding RO12 million.

The projects will occupy a total area of more than 51,000 square metres and cover a range of sectors, including oil and gas, chemical manufacturing, medical supplies, building materials and glass products, contributing to economic activity and value creation in Al Dakhiliyah Governorate and the Sultanate of Oman.

Saeed bin Abdullah Al Balushi, Director General of Nizwa Industrial City, said that cumulative investments in the industrial city exceeded RO560 million by the end of the first half of 2026.

He noted that the city currently has 193 existing and productive projects, providing employment for approximately 6,100 workers, with an Omanization rate exceeding 45 percent. The industrial city covers a total area of approximately 7.2 million square metres.

Al Balushi said that Madayn continues to implement a number of strategic projects in Nizwa Industrial City, including preparations for a consultancy tender for the residential area project.

Work is also progressing on leasing available spaces at the Madayn Entrepreneurial Complex, which is dedicated to small and medium enterprises holding a Riyada card. The complex is being developed on an area of 11,000 square metres in cooperation with the Small and Medium Enterprises Development Authority, at a cost of approximately RO1.2 million.

The first half of 2026 also witnessed the opening of several factories operating in medical and food supplies, oil and gas, and iron-forming industries.

Al Balushi added that 386 trees were planted during the period, bringing the total number of trees within the industrial city to more than 2,415. Solar energy panels were also installed as an initial pilot initiative at one of the investing companies to help reduce electricity consumption.

The Masar Services Center at Nizwa Industrial City serves as a unified investment services platform, enabling investors to complete procedures related to approvals, permits and licences for their projects through a single system and within defined timeframes.

The centre forms part of Madayn’s efforts to provide integrated services and strengthen the investment environment by facilitating procedures and supporting investors in establishing projects that contribute to sustainable economic growth in Oman.
