    Oman Cricket Team Begins Asia Cup Campaign Against Singapore Tomorrow

    Kuala Lumpur: The Oman national cricket team will begin its campaign in the 2026 Men’s Asia Cup in Malaysia tomorrow, Sunday, when it faces Singapore in its opening Group B match.

    Oman enters the tournament with high morale and confidence following a successful preparation period. The team will be seeking to build on its strong performance in the previous edition, where it finished as runner-up.

    Oman has been drawn in Group B alongside the United Arab Emirates, Kuwait, Qatar and Singapore. Each team will face the other teams in the group during the group stage.

    Following the opening match against Singapore, Oman will face Qatar next Wednesday, followed by Kuwait on September 5 and the UAE on September 8.

    The tournament features 10 teams divided into two groups, with the leading teams advancing to the knockout stage, which includes the semi-finals, final and third-place playoff.

    All Oman matches are scheduled to begin at 1:30pm Oman time.

    The national team’s preparations included a series of recent practice matches against India’s Goa side, providing the players with valuable match experience ahead of the continental competition.

    The coaching staff expressed confidence in the squad’s ability to deliver strong performances and compete for a place in the later stages of the tournament.
