Khareef Dhofar Visitors Reach 881,424 by Mid-August 2026

Muscat (ONA): The number of visitors to Khareef Dhofar (monsoon) season increased by 6.6% during the period from 21 June to 15 August 2026, reaching 881,424 visitors, compared with 827,115 visitors during the same period in 2025, according to the preliminary estimates of Khareef Dhofar 2026 visitor numbers released by the National Center for Statistics and Information (NCSI).

The estimates showed that Omani visitors accounted for 72.5% of the total number of visitors, representing the largest share among the nationality groups, reaching 639,360 visitors, compared with 591,577 during the same period in 2025.

Visitors from the GCC countries reached 156,216 visitors compared with 143,431 during the corresponding period of the previous year, while visitors from other nationalities numbered 85,848, compared with 92,107 during the same period in 2025.

The results also showed that the number of visitors arriving by air increased by 13.6%, reaching 212,562 visitors, compared with 187,153 during the same period in 2025.

Meanwhile, the number of visitors arriving through land border crossings reached 668,862, compared with 639,962 during the corresponding period of the previous year. In terms of the breakdown of visitors by period, the number of visitors during 21–30 June 2026 reached 21,094 visitors, compared with 20,594 during the same period of the previous year. July 2026 recorded the highest number of visitors, with 451,355 visitors, compared with 421,506 in July 2025.

Meanwhile, the number of visitors during 1–15 August 2026 reached 408,975 visitors, compared with 385,015 during the same period of the previous year. This represented 46.4% of the total number of visitors recorded since the beginning of the season.
