Oman Natural Gas Production Rises 6.4% to 34.98 Billion Cubic Metres by July 2026
Muscat (ONA): The Sultanate of Oman’s natural gas production—including local production and imports—witnessed a 6.4 percent growth by the end of July 2026, reaching 34,979,400,000 cubic meters, compared to 32,879,900,000 cubic meters during the corresponding period in 2025.
Data issued by the National Centre for Statistics and Information (NCSI) showed a 7.8 percent increase in the production of associated gas by the end of July 2026, reaching 7,877,900,000 cubic meters, compared to 7,308,600,000 cubic meters during the same period of the previous year.
The production of non-associated gas (including imports) also rose by 6 percent, amounting to 27,101,500,000 cubic meters by the end of July 2026, compared to 25,571,300,000 cubic meters during the corresponding period in 2025.
In terms of consumption, natural gas consumption in industrial projects increased by 5.9 percent, reaching 17,334,800,000 cubic meters by the end of July 2026, compared to 16,373,200,000 cubic meters during the same period in 2025.
Gas consumption in power generation plants also increased by 13.7 percent, recording 10,007,200,000 cubic meters by the end of July 2026, compared to 8,804,800,000 cubic meters during the corresponding period in 2025.
Conversely, gas consumption in oil fields (including losses, meter discrepancies, and shrinkage factors) decreased by 0.2 percent, recording 7,526,400,000 cubic meters by the end of July 2026, compared to 7,540,500,000 cubic meters during the same period in 2025.
Furthermore, gas consumption in industrial areas (including industrial estates and the consumption of the Oman LNG Company) declined by 31.2 percent, recording 111,000,000 cubic meters by the end of July 2026, compared to 161,400,000 cubic meters during the corresponding period in 2025.
