Argentine Cyclist Eduardo Sepúlveda Wins Dhofar Classic 2026

Argentina’s Eduardo Sepúlveda Claims Dhofar Classic Title in Oman

Salalah: Argentine cyclist Eduardo Sepúlveda was crowned champion of the “Dhofar Classic” cycling race, held as part of the sixth edition of the Tour of Salalah, organised by Dhofar Municipality in cooperation with the Oman Cycling Federation.

The 98-kilometre race started in front of Al Hafa Market, passed through Darbat Waterfalls and finished in the Hajeef district.

The Oman Cycling Federation organised the race to attract a new group of professional teams specialising in one-day races, with the aim of enhancing technical diversity in Oman’s cycling calendar and providing athletes with a different competitive experience.

The race also seeks to enhance the media and tourism value of Dhofar Governorate through international coverage, while providing an opportunity to showcase the Oman Cycling Federation’s organisational capabilities and highlight the governorate’s natural and tourist attractions.

Sepúlveda claimed first place, followed by Brazilian cyclist Nicolas Sessler in second and Colombian cyclist Edinson Alejandro in third. The Li Ning Star team was named the best team in the race.

At the conclusion of the race, Saif bin Sabaa Al Rashidi, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Oman Cycling Federation, crowned the winners.

The race featured 80 cyclists representing 16 regional and international teams.

The first stage of the Tour of Salalah will begin tomorrow, covering 127 kilometres from Al Mughsail to Mirbat Fort.
