Oman, Rwanda Foreign Ministers Explore New Economic Partnership Opportunities

Salalah (ONA): Sayyid Badr bin Hamad Al Busaidi, Foreign Minister, met at Al Husn Palace in Salalah this morning with Olivier Jean Nduhungirehe, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of the Republic of Rwanda, as part of the official visit of President Paul Kagame of the Republic of Rwanda to the Sultanate of Oman.

The two ministers affirmed their commitment to establishing a follow-up mechanism for the outcomes of the visit and to advance the growing trajectory of bilateral relations.

They explored ways to build upon the prevailing momentum, steering it toward a more diversified and interconnected partnership rooted in mutual investment, the development of value-added projects, and the strengthening of economic and logistics links between Oman and Rwanda.

They also discussed opportunities to translate existing understandings and agreements into practical programs and projects across priority sectors, while encouraging partnerships between public and private sector institutions, so as to expand shared economic interests and open new avenues for trade, investment and knowledge exchange.

The two ministers exchanged perspectives on a set of regional and international issues of mutual concern, and underscored the importance of continued consultation and coordination, as well as leveraging the strategic positions and capacities of both countries in building broader bridges for cooperation and communication between Oman and East Africa.
