Oman Participates in 23rd GCC Meeting of Financial and Accounting Audit Institutions

Manama (ONA): The Sultanate of Oman, represented by the State Financial and Administrative Audit Authority, participated in the 23rd meeting of the Heads of Financial and Accounting Audit Institutions and Bureaus in the GCC, held in the Kingdom of Bahrain.

The delegation of the Sultanate of Oman at the meeting was led by Sheikh Ghuson Hilal Al Alawi, Chairman of the State Financial and Administrative Audit Authority.

The meeting addressed a number of items on its agenda, most notably discussing the topics for the seventh edition of the GCC Research and Studies Competition in Auditing and Accounting, and reviewing a report on the results of studying the recommendations contained in the winning research papers of the sixth edition of the competition.

The meeting also touched upon informational items, including the report of the Secretariat General on the training programs implemented in 2025 and 2026, as well as events to be held by financial and accounting audit institutions in the GCC states during the Gulf Financial and Accounting Audit Week.

This meeting comes within the framework of enhancing joint Gulf cooperation to consolidate the principles of transparency, accountability, and protection of public funds, develop audit mechanisms, and exchange expertise and experiences among financial and accounting audit institutions in the GCC states.
