Oman Foreign Minister Meets Botswana Counterpart to Advance Bilateral Cooperation

Oman, Botswana Discuss Expanding Economic Partnership in Investment, Energy and Mining

Gaborone: Sayyid Badr bin Hamad Al Busaidi, Foreign Minister, today met with Dr. Phenyo Butale, Minister of International Relations of the Republic of Botswana.

The meeting was held within the framework of the state visit of His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik to Botswana.

The two ministers discussed ways to strengthen bilateral relations, build on existing cooperation and leverage the momentum generated by His Majesty’s visit to advance mutual interests and expand economic partnership, particularly in the fields of investment, energy and mining.

They noted that enhanced cooperation in these areas would support the development priorities of both countries and create new opportunities for mutual benefit.

The meeting also underscored the importance of continued coordination and follow-up between relevant institutions, as well as reciprocal visits by officials, to translate areas of cooperation into practical outcomes.

On the political front, the two ministers exchanged views on a range of regional and international issues of common concern.
