Muscat: The Oman Handball Association renewed its contract with Algerian coach Mourad Bousbet to be the technical director of the national futsal teams, as part of the efforts made by the federation to develop the level of the national teams to reach the podiums in the various tournaments in which it will participate during the next stage.
The coach, Mourad Bousbet, had recently assumed the task of leading the Oman national handball team for the futsal in the 20th Asian Men’s Championship, which was held in Dammam, Saudi Arabia, last January, which is the qualifiers for the World Championships to be held in Poland – Sweden in early 2023.
Dr. Saeed bin Ahmed Al-Shahri, head of the Omani Handball Association, said: The board of directors decided to renew the contract with the Algerian coach; Due to his long experience and good knowledge, and the level and performance he presented to our national team according to the preparation plan set by the National Teams and Coaches Committee, we are facing upcoming challenges at the level of the first national futsal team – which is awaiting participation in the Asian Games that will be held in Hangzhou, China next October -, In addition to qualifying for the next World Cup.
He added: There is a program developed by the National Teams and Coaches Committee and approved by the Board of Directors for the program to prepare the first national handball team, and we look forward during the coming period to achieving positive results in the tournaments in which we participate and compete, and our goal is to reach the podiums, God willing.
He explained that the task of Algerian Mourad Bousbet is not limited to training the Oman national team, but rather to supervise the technical bodies of the Sunni national teams that will undertake the task of training them; In preparation for the upcoming benefits, in addition to conducting training courses for national coaches in clubs, rehabilitating and refining them with training plans.
