Muscat: Her Excellency Laila bint Ahmed bin Awad Al-Najjar, Minister of Social Development, approved the start of the qualifying year for all governmental, private and private rehabilitation centers in November.
Her Excellency stressed the importance of commitment in implementing all procedures that ensure that children with disabilities provide a safe and stimulating environment for them to receive various rehabilitation programs according to the needs of each case separately.
The meeting reviewed rehabilitation methods and mechanisms according to the conditions of children with disabilities in coordination with other concerned authorities to ensure that all precautionary and preventive measures are taken in these rehabilitation centers in line with the decisions of the Supreme Committee in charge of examining the mechanism for dealing with developments resulting from the spread of the Covid-19 pandemic.
The meeting dealt with the operational time plan for the pre-preparedness phase and during the opening of these centers. As the plan included that the qualification should be in the individual sessions system instead of the full qualifying day system; In order to achieve the principle of physical spacing and ensure that children benefit from individual rehabilitative sessions, and also – the plan included – preparing these rehabilitation centers and equipping them with the necessary tools and means to protect children and their workers, as well as the procedures for transport buses in terms of providing safety and protection methods, and the application of physical spacing and continuous sterilization of these buses.
In addition to forming administrative and technical work teams in each center and training them on protection mechanisms, application of precautionary and preventive conditions and procedures, and a follow-up mechanism for compliance with them, in addition to carrying out field visits to ensure the safety, procedures, and readiness of the centers to receive cases.
