Muscat: His Highness Sayyid Shihab bin Tariq Al Said, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Al-Seeb Club, expressed his gratitude for the advanced step taken by the first football team in the club to participate in the AFC Champions League competitions as the first Omani club in the modern version of the session.
His Highness praised the great efforts made by the club’s management in completing the (Asian License) file, despite the many requirements and conditions. However, the club succeeded in presenting an integrated file that qualified it to participate in the AFC Champions League, wishing the club success in achieving honorable results in the next Asian mission, which begins in mid-August.
His Highness explained that the Asian Champions League license file contained several main criteria, namely: sports, legal, infrastructure, management, marketing and promotion, and the financial aspect, adding that these criteria are summarized in working to improve and develop football standards, improve the level of management and organization, and develop Financial and economic capabilities, improving the sports infrastructure, training and caring for young people, and creating a football and fan base for the club.
His Highness added that Al-Seeb Club submitted a financial file supported by documents and evidence that confirm financial integrity in terms of the club’s commitment to local and international contracts, and credibility in dealing with international and local players and administrative and technical bodies.
His Highness added, “I am very proud that Al-Seeb Club is the first Omani club to obtain this license, and the first to participate in the Champions League, which is a great step that reflects the progress and development of Omani football and its ability to compete at the continental level after the stages of preparation and hard work.”
