Expat employees can now review and approve the contract registered by the employer
Muscat: The Ministry of Labor said that a new electronic service has been launched to register the work contract for non-Omani manpower, which started on Tuesday 3-11-2020.
The ministry stated that the service will enable employers to register work contracts for their employees through the ministry’s online portal, in the following cases:
1- After the worker arrived in the Sultanate, and the card has been issued
2- After renewing the work permit, and issuing the card
3- After completing the transfer of the service, and issuing the card
4- After completing the authorized profession amendment.
5- Upon expiry of the contract
The Ministry of Labor confirmed that the contract can be modified through the non-Omani workforce contract amendment service, which will enable employers to amend the contract details.
The Ministry indicated that to ensure the correctness and accuracy of the contract data, the worker will need to review and approve the contract registered by the employer (the first party) through the employment contract acceptance service, using the civil card or the mobile phone card enhanced with the electronic certification feature (PKI).
