    Oman name Jaroslav Silhavy as new national team coach

    Muscat: The Oman Football Association (OFA) signs contract with Former Czech Republic national team coach Jaroslav Silhavy as Oman’s national football team.

    OFA Said: The Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Oman Football Association, Salem bin Saeed bin Salem Al Wahaibi, signed with Czech coach Jaroslav Silhavy to lead the technical staff of the Oman national team until 2026, starting February, and the contract signing ceremony took place at the Federation’s headquarters.

    Jaroslav Silhavy , 62 years old, previously coached a number of Czech clubs and the Czech national team and achieved many successes, most notably the Czech league champion in his second season with Slovan Liberec in the 2011/2012 season, after finishing runner-up in his first year, and the Czech league champion with Slavia Prague in the 2016/2017 season. At the Czech national team level, he assumed the position of coach in 2018, and led his country to the quarter-finals in the European Championship 2020, and qualified with them to the European Championship 2024.
