“Socca World Cup Oman 2024” draw completed

Inaugural Socca World Cup Oman 2024 Kicks Off from November 28

Muscat: The draw for the FIFA Hexagonal World Cup “Socca World Cup Oman 2024” was held today at the Oman International Convention and Exhibition Centre.

The tournament will be hosted by the Sultanate of Oman from November 28 to December 8 for the first time in the Middle East, with the participation of 40 teams from different countries around the world.

The draw ceremony was sponsored by His Highness Sayyid Shihab bin Harib Al Said.

At the beginning of the ceremony, Walid Al Obaidani, Chairman of the Middle East Soca Federation, delivered a speech in which he said: Today we stand here to crown ten years of efforts to host this international tournament with the participation of more than 40 international teams.

It is an opportunity for amateur players to showcase their potential and capabilities to reach the first teams. He explained that the Sultanate of Oman national team is continuing its preparations to participate in the tournament, starting with its participation in the last World Cup in Mexico and in the Soca Oman Caravan.

The draw placed our national team, the Sultanate of Oman, in the first group with the teams of America, Italy, Canada and Qatar, and in the second group are the teams of Germany, Bulgaria, Georgia, Libya and Serbia. Group 3 included Greece, Belgium, Cyprus, Kuwait and Iraq, while Group 4 included Brazil, Egypt, Ireland, Colombia and Iran. Group 5 included Poland, France, Turkey, Pakistan and Haiti, while Group 6 included Mexico, Latvia, Albania, Peru and Australia. Group 7 included Kazakhstan, England, Romania, Uruguay and Sudan, while Group 8 and the last included Croatia, Hungary, Argentina, Tunisia and South Africa.
