Bidiyah: The vibrant Wilayat of Bidiyah in North Al Sharqiyah Governorate came alive with the thrilling “Bidiyah Carnival Automotive Challenge,” proudly sponsored by MHD. Held as part of the Sultanate of Oman’s celebrations of the 54th National Day, the event took place over three days at Tel Bidiyah Field and Bidiyah Public Park, coinciding with the winter desert sports season.
This year’s edition was marked by exceptional enthusiasm, drawing large crowds of motoring enthusiasts, tourists, and families from across Oman and the GCC. With participation from both professional drivers and amateurs, the carnival showcased exhilarating endurance car sports and competitive events, further boosting tourism and economic activity in the region.
Highlighting the scale of the event, seven MG3 cars were awarded to the first-place winners in each category, alongside cash prizes totaling OMR 15,000 for the second- and third-place winners. Competitions spanned seven categories, including 6-cylinder and 8-cylinder modified and unmodified vehicles, “Backfire” and “Burnfire” events, and an open category with strict safety protocols.

Adding to the excitement, the event featured an exhibition of vehicles by MHD, including renowned brands like MG, Jetour, INEOS, Jeep, Dodge, Hongqi, and Defender. The showcase provided attendees with a close-up view of these remarkable automobiles, blending innovation, performance, and style.
The Bidiyah Carnival Automotive Challenge continues to be a major highlight of Oman’s winter tourism calendar, with events planned to extend until March 2025. This year’s record-breaking participation and audience turnout underscore its significance as one of the largest automotive competitions in the Sultanate.
