Muscat: Muscat Club was crowned champion of the Youth Handball League Championship for the 2024/2025 sports season, after defeating Nizwa Club 33/25, in the final match held this evening at the main hall of the Sultan Qaboos Sports Complex in Bousher.
Muscat Club thus won the title for the seventh time in its history since the start of the championship in the 2013/2014 season. In the third place match, Al-Seeb Club managed to achieve a difficult victory over Al-Orouba Club with a score of 28-27.
Muscat Club won the league shield and gold medals with a financial reward, Nizwa Club won silver medals and a financial reward, while Seeb Club won bronze medals and a financial reward.
The current season of the Youth League Championship witnessed the participation of Muscat, Nizwa, Seeb, Saham, Al Nahda, and Al Orouba clubs. Muscat Club was the first club to win the Youth Handball League title in the 2013/2014 season, and retained the title in the 2014/2015 season.
In the 2015/2016 season, Seeb Club managed to win the championship, followed by Ahli Sidab Club, which won the title in the 2012/2013 and 2016/2017 seasons.
Muscat Club returned to shine and won the title four times in a row from the 2017/2018 season until 2019/2020.
The competition was suspended in the 2020/2021 and 2021/2022 seasons due to the Corona pandemic, and was not held in the 2022/2023 season due to the lack of a legal quorum for clubs.
In the 2023/2024 season, Muscat won the title for the sixth time in its history, and Nizwa Club came in second place for the fourth season in a row.
