    • Kuwait amends driver’s license validity: 15 years for Kuwaitis and GCC nationals; 5 for expats

    The Ministry of Interior issued a decision amending the traffic law and setting new duration periods for the driver’s license based on the holder’s nationality.

    As per the decision published in the national gazette ‘Kuwait Al-Youm’ Sunday, a driver’s license is valid for 15 years for Kuwaiti citizens and GCC nationals, and five years for expatriates.

    For stateless residents, the license’s validity is linked to their ID’s, according to the decision. The same validity periods apply for motorcycle licenses as well, the decision stipulates.
