    Oman’s Asyad Shipping Unveils New VLCC Tanker “Bidbid”

    Seoul: Asyad Shipping today launched the giant crude oil tanker “Bidbid”, one of four new tankers set to join the company’s fleet as part of efforts to strengthen operational capabilities and expand its presence in the global maritime transport sector.

    The launch ceremony was attended by Eng. Abdulrahman bin Salem Al Hatmi, Chief Executive Officer of Asyad Group, along with members of the executive management of Asyad Shipping.

    The launch marks the commencement of the tanker’s operations within the company’s fleet.

    “Bidbid” was built by Hanwha Ocean, one of the leading shipbuilding companies in the Republic of Korea and globally.

    The tanker is equipped with advanced systems for gas purification, carbon emission reduction and energy efficiency enhancement, reflecting Asyad Shipping’s commitment to environmental sustainability and compliance with international maritime standards.

    The addition of the tanker comes within the company’s plans to expand its fleet and enhance readiness to meet growing global demand in energy trade and crude oil transportation services.

    Eng. Abdulrahman Al Hatmi said that the launch of “Bidbid” reflects Asyad Group’s continued efforts to contribute to the future of global maritime trade and strengthen the company’s role in connecting markets and supporting energy flows through integrated logistics solutions.

    He added that the expansion supports Oman’s position as a strategic hub in the maritime transport and energy sectors.

    For his part, Emad bin Saeed Al Khadouri, Chief Commercial Officer at Asyad Shipping, said that the expansion represents a strategic step aimed at strengthening the company’s role within the global energy supply chain.

    He noted that the new tanker enhances operational flexibility and supports the company’s efforts to build a commercial fleet capable of adapting to market developments while delivering sustainable value to partners worldwide.

    Al Khadouri affirmed that Asyad Shipping continues to focus on innovation, operational efficiency and sustainable growth while expanding its international presence and supporting the logistics and maritime transport sectors in line with Oman Vision 2040 objectives.
