Bahrain completes its preparations to host 46th GCC Summit

Manama:  The Kingdom of Bahrain has completed all preparations to host and welcome Their Majesties and Highnesses, the leaders of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) states, participating in the 46th GCC Summit, which will commence the day after tomorrow.

As the summit approaches, the streets of Bahrain have been adorned with banners welcoming His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and the GCC leaders, in anticipation of the summit’s arrival. Banners displayed throughout the Kingdom’s streets carried slogans such as “Gulf solidarity is our goal and the unity of our peoples is our starting point,” and “Together towards a bright future,” in addition to pictures of the leaders of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries and the flags of the six member states. On November 13, the GCC pavilion, accompanying the summit, was inaugurated at the Bahrain National Museum as part of the Kingdom’s preparations to host it.

The pavilion, which will run for a full month, includes multiple sections covering various aspects of the joint Gulf action, including the founding stage, statements by the Council’s leaders, the Council’s affiliated organizations and bodies, joint Gulf achievements and projects, as well as a special section for commemorative photographs.

Waleed Al-Hamoud, head of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) pavilion at the 46th GCC Summit in the Kingdom of Bahrain, told the Oman News Agency that the pavilion opened on November 13 and will remain open until December 16.

He explained that the pavilion’s organization coincides with the summit, hosted by Bahrain, and is attended by Their Majesties and Highnesses, the leaders of the GCC member states.

He added that the pavilion features over 100 exhibits across 40 main topics and 120 subtopics, showcasing the GCC’s blessed journey, the foundations of which were laid by the founding leaders (may God have mercy on them) and continued by the current leaders (may God protect them).

He noted that the exhibits cover key areas of joint Gulf action, such as social cooperation, economic development, health and education, military and security cooperation, and the legislative framework, regulations, and resolutions issued throughout the Council’s history. He noted that the pavilion showcases future projects and the economic agreement, in addition to topics related to the Gulf Common Market, economic unity, and other initiatives presented to visitors daily in a modern and comprehensive manner.
