Tokyo: Oil prices retained most of the gains recorded during the previous trading session in early trading today.
Brent crude futures rose by 6 cents, or 0.06 percent, to reach $95.04 per barrel.
Meanwhile, US West Texas Intermediate (WTI) crude futures declined by 17 cents, or 0.18 percent, to $91.99 per barrel.
Both benchmark contracts had surged by more than 5 percent during the previous session.
Despite the recent rebound, Brent crude concluded May 2026 down by approximately 19 percent, while WTI crude recorded a decline of around 17 percent, marking their largest monthly losses since March 2020.
