Car Parking online: Muscat Municipality to remove parking meters from these locations

Muscat: Muscat Municipality will remove parking meters from theses sites starting from November 1st, 2020.

In a statement Muscat Municipality said online: As of next Sunday, you can reserve a car park online through one of the following ways as Muscat Municipality will remove parking meters from these sites.

Muscat Municipality wishes to invite all to use one of the online systems to reserve a car parks illustrated on the sites signs installed recently, as the municipality will remove all parking meters from the following locations on November 1st,

1, The Business District ( CBD)

2, The Business Square

3, Ruwi Souk

4, Al Fursan Street

5, Mutrah souk & the Sea Road

6, Al Wadi Al Kabeer

Reserve via SMS

  • Compose an SMS to 90091 containing your car number & code and the time period required (multiples of 30 to a maximuim of 300 minutes ) for example: AB30 OR AB60
  • You will receive a confirmation SMS which contains: the ticket number, car number & code and the date and time of the reservation.
  • Should you need to extend the time period, send another SMS to 90091 following the same steps.

Reserve via Baladiyeti App:

  • You can use Baladiyeti app to reserve a car park for hours.
  • You can also obtain or renew a parking permit or inquire about & pay fines.

Reserve via Muscat Municipality website:

  • Visit muscat municipality website http://www.mm.gov.om to obtain or renew a parking permit or to inquire about & pay fines.
