China’s Lin Shidong wins WTT Contender Muscat 2024

Muscat: Chinese player Lin Shidong, ranked second in the world, won the title of the Oman International Table Tennis Championship 2024 after defeating his compatriot Wei Ribo in the final match with a score of 4/1.

The closing ceremony of the tournament, which was held at the sports hall of the Sultan Qaboos Sports Complex in Bousher, was sponsored by His Excellency Basil bin Ahmed Al Rawas, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Youth for Sports and Youth, in the presence of Abdullah bin Mohammed Bamkhalef, Chairman of the Oman Table Tennis Association.

The championship, which was organised by the Oman Table Tennis Federation in coordination with the World Table Tennis Foundation and the International Table Tennis Federation, witnessed the participation of nearly 180 male and female players representing 22 countries from around the world. Chinese player Quai Man won the women’s singles title, while the Chinese duo of Yuan Lixin and Xiang Peng won the men’s doubles title.

Chinese players Yang Yuen and Zhou Siping defeated Korean players Kim and Yoon to win the women’s doubles title. The Chinese duo of Lin Xin Dong and Kwai Man won the doubles title after defeating the Hong Kong duo of Do Ho Kim and Yong Chun.
