COVID-19: PCR test for all travellers coming to Oman Airports and land borders

Director General of Disease Surveillance and Control at the Ministry of Health:

The procedure in general will be as follows:

Anyone who comes to the Sultanate will register in “Tarassud + application. Those who are coming for a period of more than 7 days will be quarantined along with a hand bracelet. These procedures will be applied to all arrivals through the airport or land boarders

There will be a PCR examination for all travelers coming to the Sultanate through the airport and boarders. There will be also a new mechanism for those coming through the land boarders.

To date, no one has been confirmed to have been re-infected with COVID-19 virus in Oman

Test result may remain positive (i.e. infected) for a very long time and may last up-to 4 months.

We have put in place a mechanism for people who have tested positive yet have finished the quarantine, so that they can travel.

Next Sunday, the third phase of the National COVID-19 Serological Survey will begin.
