Credit Oman Records RO107 Million in Insured Sales During Q1 2026

Muscat: Credit Oman recorded RO107 million in insured sales during the first quarter of 2026, reflecting a 3% increase compared to RO104 million during the same period last year, according to the company’s latest performance statistics.

The growth highlights Credit Oman’s continued role in supporting Omani businesses through credit insurance solutions that help companies manage payment risks and expand their operations with greater confidence.

Supporting Exporters and Businesses

Haitham bin Abdullah Al Yaqoubi, Acting CEO of Credit Oman, said the organisation continues to strengthen support for Omani exporters despite ongoing regional and global economic challenges.

He explained that Credit Oman provides a range of insurance solutions designed to protect exporters against non-payment risks, including delayed payments and buyer defaults, enabling businesses to enter new markets and complete transactions with greater confidence.

Al Yaqoubi added that Credit Oman’s role extends beyond risk protection by helping businesses maintain continuity, expand sales and make informed commercial decisions while reducing exposure to both commercial and non-commercial risks.

Domestic Sales Drive Growth

Domestic insured sales within the Sultanate reached approximately RO52.6 million, marking a 10% increase compared to the first quarter of 2025.

Meanwhile, insured Omani exports totalled around RO54.4 million, down 4% from RO56.4 million recorded during the same period last year.

Manufacturing Sector Dominates

The manufacturing sector accounted for the largest share of insured sales during the first quarter, recording RO99.1 million, equivalent to 91% of the total.

It was followed by:

  • Agriculture and fisheries: RO3.1 million
  • Wholesale and retail trade, including vehicle and motorcycle repair: RO3 million

The latest figures underline Credit Oman’s growing contribution to strengthening business resilience, supporting exporters and encouraging sustainable economic growth across key sectors of the Omani economy.
