Regional Ministers Denounce Israeli ‘State Lands’ Decision
Ankara: A coalition of eight nations, including Turkey, Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Qatar and the United Arab Emirates, has strongly condemned the Israeli occupation’s decision to designate large areas of land in the West Bank as “state lands,” according to a joint statement issued by the Turkish Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The statement, endorsed by the foreign ministers of Turkey, the United Arab Emirates, Egypt, Jordan, Indonesia, Pakistan, Saudi Arabia and Qatar, denounced in the strongest terms the declaration classifying occupied West Bank territories as “state lands” and the approval to initiate large-scale land registration and property ownership settlement procedures — described as the first such move since 1967.
The ministers affirmed that the measure constitutes a serious escalation aimed at accelerating illegal settlement expansion, facilitating land confiscation and consolidating control over occupied Palestinian territory, thereby undermining the inalienable rights of the Palestinian people.
They reiterated their categorical rejection of unilateral actions intended to alter the legal, demographic and historical character of the occupied Palestinian territory, warning that such policies risk further inflaming tensions and destabilizing not only the Palestinian territory but the wider region.
