Luxembourg City: European Union foreign ministers are set to meet today in Luxembourg to discuss developments in the Middle East and the ongoing war in Ukraine, with the participation of Lebanese Prime Minister Nawaf Salam.

The meeting will address the implications of recent military escalation in the region, particularly the situation in Lebanon and tensions in the Strait of Hormuz, in addition to efforts aimed at reducing tensions and maintaining the security of international shipping.

During a video conference with Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha, the ministers will review the latest developments on the ground in Ukraine, discuss a new package of sanctions, and consider a proposal for a €90 billion financial loan to support Kyiv, alongside cooperation in reconstruction and demining efforts.

The agenda also includes discussions on advancing the peace process between Armenia and Azerbaijan, as well as reviewing the political situation in Georgia.
