European Shares Rise as Corporate Earnings Come into Focus
Brussels: European stocks reached a record high today as investors evaluated a series of corporate earnings, ahead of the release of key US inflation data.
The pan-European STOXX 600 index edged up 0.1 percent, while Germany’s DAX index posted marginal gains in volatile trading, putting it on course for an 11-day winning streak, which would mark its longest run of consecutive gains since 2014, if current levels are maintained.
In individual stock movements, shares of Danish offshore wind energy company Ørsted rose 5.7 percent, reaching their highest level in a month.
