FIH President Tayyab Ikram Praises Oman’s efforts in hosting the Hockey5s World Cup 2024

Al Amerat: Dato Tayyab Ikram, President of the International Hockey Federation, praised the great role and strenuous efforts made by the Sultanate of Oman, represented by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Youth, as well as the Oman Hockey Federation, in organizing the first historic edition of the World Futsal Hockey Championship (Oman 2024), which is currently being held at the Oman Hockey Complex in Al-Amerat, and will continue until January 31.

The President of the International Federation said in a statement: The tournament is currently proceeding as planned, pointing out that hosting this global competition in Muscat has added great gains to the Sultanate of Oman. Through the presence of an integrated sports facility for hockey that includes facilities and services at international levels and standards, the modern complex that was built within a record period of time will be suitable for hosting international championships in the near future and a leading destination in attracting international teams and well-established clubs to conduct training camps in this complex. In addition, this sports complex will contribute to the ongoing endeavor to spread the sport of hockey to a wider area and increase the number of players practicing the game in the Sultanate of Oman.
