    Passengers’ Rights in Cases of Flight Delays or Cancellations

    Muscat: Under Oman’s Passenger Rights Protection Regulations, passengers may be entitled to ticket refunds, compensation, accommodation, care and assistance, depending on the circumstances and duration of the disruption. says Oman Civil Aviation Authority

    under the Passenger Rights Protection Regulations

    1. Passengers are entitled to compensation or a ticket refund in the event of an undisclosed stopover or flight cancellation.
    2. The air carrier is required to refund ticket fares and compensation within 14 working days.
    3. The air carrier shall bear the costs of accommodation, care, and assistance in cases of flight delays, according to the duration of the delay.
    4. If the flight delay exceeds 6 hours, passengers are entitled to claim compensation in accordance with cancellation provisions.
    5. Passengers have the right to file a complaint with the air carrier and appeal to the competent authority if the complaint is not resolved.
