Foundation stone laid for Omans’ New Sultan Qaboos Hospital in Salalah

Salalah: The Foundation stone laid for the new Sultan Qaboos Hospital project in Salalah, which has a total cost of RO 129 million Omani Rials and is one of the most vital projects for the health sector in the Sultanate.

His Excellency Mr. Mohammed bin Sultan Al Busaidi, Minister of State and Governor of Dhofar, in the presence of His Excellency Dr. Ahmed bin Mohammed Al Saidi, Minister of Health, and a number of officials. The project implementation period is four years, is built on a total area of ​​200,000 square meters; Where construction work has started since the beginning of this year and the main building consists of the ground floor in addition to six floors, with an area of ​​94,400 square meters.

The new Sultan Qaboos Hospital project in Salalah includes 700 beds distributed in admission wards in various specialties for men and women.

The project includes a radiology department, which consists of 3 x-ray machines, two CT scanners, an MRI machine, and some other ultrasound devices, in addition to the pharmacy and medical laboratories department.

The project includes a daycare unit that includes endoscopy departments, a lithotripsy device and a nephrology unit, in addition to a room for minor operations, a physiotherapy unit and another for chemotherapy.

It also includes administration offices, service buildings, medical and general stores, as well as a water treatment plant, a helipad, backup generators, drinking water purification devices, and other public services and facilities.
