Four Omani Officials Named to Asian Beach Games Handball Committee

Muscat:  The Asian Handball Federation has selected four Omani officials to serve on the technical committee for the beach handball competition at the Asian Beach Games, scheduled to be held in Sanya, China from 22 to 30 April.

The appointed officials are Issa Said Al Jabri, Maher Saif Al Dughaishi, Iyad Khamis Al Ma’shari and Walid Khalfan Al Sinani. They will contribute to the technical and organisational aspects of the tournament.

The beach handball competition will feature 15 national teams divided into two groups. Group One includes China, Iran, the Philippines, Hong Kong, India, Sri Lanka and Bahrain. Group Two comprises the Sultanate of Oman, Pakistan, Jordan, the Maldives, Bangladesh, Thailand, Qatar and Mongolia.

The Omani national beach handball team will begin its campaign on 21 April against Mongolia, followed by a match against Qatar on the same day.

The team will then face Thailand on 22 April, the Maldives on 24 April, Bangladesh on 26 April, and Jordan and Pakistan on 27 April.
