Fourth West Asia Men’s Volleyball Clubs Championship Kicks Off with Omani Participation

Al Seeb, Majees to Represent Oman in Fourth West Asia Men’s Volleyball Clubs Championship

Muscat: Al Seeb and Majees clubs will represent Omani volleyball in the Fourth West Asia Men’s Volleyball Clubs Championship, which will be hosted by the State of Kuwait from 2 to 14 February 2026. The championship will feature the participation of 11 clubs from seven countries and will be held under the auspices of the West Asia Volleyball Association.

The participating teams have been divided into three groups. Group One comprises Majees (Oman), Al Rayyan (Qatar) and Ghaz Al Janoub (Iraq). Group Two includes Shabab Al Batron (Lebanon), Al Wakrah (Qatar), Al Ahli (Bahrain) and Al Kuwait (Kuwait). Group Three features Al Seeb (Oman), Al Ittihad (Saudi Arabia), Dar Kulaib (Bahrain) and Burgan (Kuwait).

According to the championship format, preliminary round matches will be played in a single-round robin system. The top two teams from each group, along with the two best third-placed teams, will qualify for the quarter-finals, which will be contested in a knockout format. Placement matches will be held for teams eliminated in the group stage and quarter-finals.

The four teams advancing from the quarter-finals will compete in the semi-finals, with the winners qualifying for the final match. The losing semi-finalists will play for third and fourth places. The tournament champion will directly qualify for the Asian Men’s Club Volleyball Championship as the representative of West Asian clubs.

Majees Club will open its campaign against Al Rayyan of Qatar on the opening day of the championship, which will feature three matches. On the same day, Al Ahli of Bahrain will face Al Wakrah of Qatar, while Shabab Al Batron of Lebanon will meet Al Kuwait of Kuwait.

On the second day of competition, Al Seeb will take on Dar Kulaib of Bahrain, while Majees will face Ghaz Al Janoub of Iraq, concluding Majees’ preliminary round fixtures. Al Seeb will then meet Al Ittihad of Saudi Arabia on the fourth day, before concluding its group-stage matches against Burgan of Kuwait on the fifth day.

It is noteworthy that Al Rayyan of Qatar claimed the title of the third edition of the West Asia Men’s Volleyball Clubs Championship in 2025, which was held in the Kingdom of Bahrain. Al Arabi of Qatar finished as runner-up, followed by Al Ahli of Bahrain in third place, Al Salam of Oman in fourth, Masafi Al Shamal of Iraq in fifth, and Al Qadsiah of Kuwait in sixth.
