Baku: The Sultanate of Oman, represented by Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry (OCCI), took part today in the 2nd edition of the GCC-Azerbaijan Economic Forum, held in Baku, the Republic of Azerbaijan.
The forum is themed “Sustainability, Investments, Partnerships”. It is organized by the Federation of GCC Chambers, in cooperation with the Export and Investment Promotion Agency of Azerbaijan.
Further, the forum aims to explore new horizons of economic and investment cooperation between the GCC countries and Azerbaijan. Meanwhile, a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between the Federation of GCC Chambers and the Export and Investment Promotion Agency of Azerbaijan dealing with cooperation in the implementation of investment projects in various fields.
The MoU also aims to expand cooperation between the two sides in the following areas: export and investment promotion, exchanging information, preparing bilateral cooperation programmes, carrying out trade promotion activities, coordinating research and analytical work and providing mutual support in the implementation of investment projects.
GCC-Azerbaijan Economic Forum included several discussion panels which covered a spectrum of topics, namely cooperation in the fields of renewable energy, clean energy, water and electricity, as well as challenges and opportunities in the sectors of transport and logistic services.
One panel also touched on the strategic partnerships between the GCC countries and Azerbaijan in the fields of agriculture, food security and food industries. On the sidelines of the forum, several B2B meetings were held between GCC businesspeople and their Azerbaijani counterparts.
