HH Sayyid Theyazin to patronize Oman Equestrian Festival tomorrow

Muscat: His Highness Sayyid Theyazin bin Haitham Al Said, Minister of Culture, Sports and Youth, will patronize tomorrow the Omani Equestrian Race and Festival, which is organized by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Youth in cooperation with the Royal Cavalry and the Oman Equestrian Federation at Al Rahba Racecourse in the Wilayat of Barka.

The organization of this race and festival comes within the framework of His Highness’s interest in equestrian sport, raising its level in the Sultanate of Oman, and developing it. The race will include five runs; The most prominent of which is the run of His Highness Sayyid Theyazin for horses of local production, as an encouragement from His Highness to breed purebred Arab breeds, and in support of horse owners, while 3 other runs were devoted to purebred Arabian horses and one round for purebred horses.

The race runs will include performances in various equestrian sports presented by the Royal Horsemen and Knights. The performances will be accompanied by various pieces of music. A visual presentation will be presented of the Show Jumping Championship and the Endurance Competition, which are organized by the Oman Equestrian Federation.

A number of riders from different governorates of the Sultanate of Oman will participate in the “Humble Horse” show, confirming their interest and adherence to traditional horse sports. A group of riders from various government units will also participate in a peg-picking show.

The first half of the race, which was called “Jabal Al-Kour”, was devoted to purebred Arabian horses of 3 years of age for a distance of 1600 meters, while the second half of the “Moshat Mountain Race” was allocated to purebred Arabian horses “classification 98 and below” for a distance of 1600 meters, and the third half was devoted to the “Jabal Samhan Race”. It is dedicated to purebred crossbred horses “Thorbird” for a distance of 2000 meters, and the fourth round was devoted to the “Al Jabal Al Akhdar Race” for purebred Arabian horses for a distance of 2000 meters. As for the fifth round, “The Run of His Highness Sayyid Dhi Yazan”, the Grand Prize was allocated to him. As the winner will receive the Omani Equestrian Race and Festival Cup, which is dedicated to purebred Arabian horses of local production for a distance of 2000 meters.
