Muscat: His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik, issued a royal decree, the text of which follows.
Royal Decree No. 116/2020 amending some provisions of Royal Decree No. 6/2020 regarding the Supreme Committee for National Day celebrations
Article 1: The name of the Supreme Committee for National Day Celebrations mentioned in Decree No. 6/2020 referred to shall be replaced by the name of the “Secretariat General of National Celebrations (SGNC)”.
Article 2: A new article shall be added to the aforementioned Royal Decree No. 6/2020, which reads as follows:
Article (4 bis): An executive committee shall be formed in the Secretariat General of National Celebrations headed by the Secretary-General and the membership of representatives of each of them is not less than the rank of the Undersecretary of the Ministry or the equivalent of the following bodies:
The Ministry of Interior,
The Ministry of Finance,
The Ministry of Information,
The Ministry of Education,
The Ministry of Trade and Industry and Promotion Investment,
The General Secretariat of the Council of Ministers,
The Royal Oman Police, and the committee also includes in its membership a representative of the Chief of Staff of the Sultan’s Armed Forces and the Royal Protocol.
Article 3: cancels all that contravenes this decree or contradicts with its provisions
Article 4: This decree shall be published in the official gazette and enforced from the date of its issuance
