His Majesty Sultan Haitham, Egyptian President Hold Official Talks Session

Cairo: His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik and President Abdul Fattah el Sisi of the Arab Republic of Egypt held an official session of talks at El-Ittihadiya Palacein Cairo this evening.

At the outset of the session, the Egyptian President reiterated his heartfelt welcome for His Majesty the Sultan as a dear guest of Egypt and its people. He wished His Majesty the Sultan and his official delegation a happy stay. On his turn, His Majesty the Sultan reciprocated the kind sentiments, thanking the President for the warm welcome and sincere hospitality.

The two leaders reviewed the distinguished relations and the deep-rooted historical bonds binding the Sultanate of Oman and the Arab Republic of Egypt. They also explored various aspects of the existing bilateral cooperation in all fields and contemplated ways of consolidating the joint interests in a manner that generates bounty and benefits to the two countries’ peoples.

His Majesty the Sultan and the Egyptian President also exchanged views on various developments at the regional and international arenas.

The session of talks was attended from the Omani side by HH Sayyid Shihab bin Tarik Al Said, Deputy Prime Minister for Defence Affairs, Sayyid Khalid bin Hilal Al Busaidi, Minister of the Diwan of Royal Court, Gen. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Nu’amani, Minister of the Royal Office, Sayyid Badr bin Hamad Al Busaidi, Foreign Minister, Sultan bin Salim Al Habsi, Minister of Finance, Dr. Hamad bin Said Al Aufi, Head of the Private Office, Abdul Salam bin Mohammed Al Murshidi, Chairman of Oman Investment Authority (OIA), Qais bin Mohammed Al Yousef, Minister of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion and Abdullah bin Nasser Al Rahbi, Ambassador of the Sultanate of Oman to the Arab Republic of Egypt and its Permanent Representative to the Arab League.

Meanwhile, it was attended from the Egyptian side by General Mohamed Zaki,Commander-in-Chiefof theArmed Forces andMinisterofDefenseandMilitary Production, Sameh Shoukry, Foreign Minister, Major General Abbas Kamel, Head of the General Intelligence, Dr.Hala El-Said, Minister of Planning and Economic Development, Dr.Mohamed Moait, Minister of Finance, Dr. Assem Al Jazzar,Minister of Housing,Utilities and Urban Communities (Head of the Mission of Honour), Eng. Ahmed Samir, Minister of Trade and Industry, Khalid Radi, Ambassador of Egypt to Oman and Ahmed Fahmy, Spokesman of the Presidency.

After that, His Majesty the Sultan and the Egyptian President held a closed-door session. – ONA
