    HM The Sultan Football Cup kicks off with 25 clubs

    Muscat: The preliminary round matches of His Majesty the Sultan’s Cup for Football will kick off this evening, with the participation of 25 teams from various governorates of the Sultanate of Oman.

    In the first match, Bousher Club will host Al-Ittihad Club at the Sultan Qaboos Sports Complex in Bousher, and in the second match, Al-Tali’aa Club will meet Nizwa Club at the Sports Complex in Sur.

    The matches will continue tomorrow, Wednesday, as Al Wahda Club hosts Fanja Club at the Sur Sports Complex, and Al Khaboura Club faces Bahla Club at the Rustaq Sports Complex.

    The matches will continue on Thursday with a match between Ahli Sidab and Samayil at the Sultan Qaboos Sports Complex in Bousher.

    In the second match, Saham Club will host Sur Club at the Sohar Sports Complex, while the matches will conclude with a match between Al Mudhaibi and Al Salam at the Ibra Sports Complex, Salalah and Ibri at the Al Saada Complex, and Muscat and Al Shabab at the Sultan Qaboos Sports Complex in Bousher.

    The matches of this round are played in a single-match knockout system. If the match ends in a draw in regular time, extra time is played, each half lasting 15 minutes. If the draw continues, penalty kicks are played to determine the winning team.
