Tehran: Iran’s armed forces announced the targeting and destruction of two US Army Black Hawk helicopters and a C-130 military transport aircraft in an area south of Isfahan province, according to state media reports.
Official Iranian outlets published images they said show the wreckage of the aircraft and helicopters.
Khatam al-Anbiya Headquarters stated that the operation was carried out by Iranian forces in a coordinated strike.
It added that the incident occurred during an attempt by US forces to evacuate a pilot following the reported downing of a fighter jet earlier in central Iran.
No confirmation has been issued by US authorities regarding the incident.
