Muscat: Kuwait has been through tough times that left an impact on various aspects of the country, His Highness the Amir Sheikh Mishal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah said in an address to the nation Friday. “We have faced unimaginable and intolerable difficulties and obstacles,” he said.
“Everyone must know that law is above all, and I will not allow for democracy to be used to destroy the state,” he added, as he announced dissolving the parliament and suspending some articles of the constitution for a maximum period of four years, during which the democratic process will be fully reassessed.
