Mexican Carlos Ortiz wins International Series Oman

Muscat: Mexican player Carlos Ortiz was crowned champion of the “First Asian Round” of the International Golf Series, which was organized by the Omani Golf Federation in cooperation with Al Mouj Golf Course during the period from February 22 to 25, with the participation of 132 players.

The closing ceremony was held under the patronage of His Highness Sayyid Malik bin Shihab Al Said.

Eng. Munther bin Salem Al Barwani, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Oman Golf Federation, said in the federation’s speech: “We lived through four wonderful days of competition during which a number of the best and most famous international golfers participated, competing for prizes worth two million US dollars. It is a global and promotional event at the same time that brought together… Sports, tourism and investment have a tangible strategic dimension.”

He added: Al Mouj Golf Course received praise from the international players participating in this tour. This prompts those responsible for this sport in the Sultanate of Oman to continue organizing it on an annual basis in accordance with the plans of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Youth and in accordance with the “Oman 2040” vision, given that this tournament enjoyed the participation of an elite group of international golf players.

The series of international tours passes through 10 global stops, in the most famous stadiums and the most famous clubs that are chosen to meet high quality requirements.
