Muscat: The Ministry of Endowments and Religious Affairs issued an explanation about what was circulated about the guiding and procedural guide for preparing the opening of mosques, which is prepared by the Endowment Production Foundation.
The ministry said in its clarification that this guide will be implemented after the decision to reopen mosques by the competent supreme committee, with the assurance that the announcement will be made according to the ministry’s alert that was issued in this regard.
Users on social media circulated the details of the guide, which included a set of precautionary measures, without disclosing a specific date for the opening of mosques.
The guideline for opening mosques are follows:
1, Mosques are opened at the time of the call to prayer and for a period not exceeding 15 minutes, which includes the call to prayer and exiting the mosque .
2, lifting the Qur’an and it cranes and books, and using electronic Qur’ans as an alternative to it .
3, Close all water coolers and women’s prayer halls, and completely close the toilets .
4, Affixing the spacing marks on the mosque carpets (one and a half meters between each worshiper) and canceling a line between every two prayer lines .
5, All mosque visitors are obligated to wear masks at all times and to sterilize hands regularly before entering and after leaving the mosque .
6, It is allowed to pray in the premises of the mosque .
7, Those in charge of mosques are obligated to close it at the end of the prayer immediately after the specified period, which does not exceed a quarter of an hour .
8, In the event that violations are found, the Ministry of Endowments is notified through the mosques’ electronic system, and if it is confirmed, the mosque will be closed until further notice .
