    MSX Index Closes Lower Despite Higher Trading Turnover

    Muscat, 21 January 2026 (ONA) — The Muscat Stock Exchange (MSX) main index closed lower today, declining by 0.948 percent.

    The MSX 30 Index ended the trading session at 6,187.19 points, losing 59.2 points from the previous close of 6,246.39 points.

    Total trading value reached RO 32,239,868, marking an increase of 31.8 percent compared to the previous session’s turnover of RO 24,458,168.

    According to the MSX market report, overall market capitalization rose by 0.326 percent to approximately RO 33.21 billion, compared to the previous trading day.

    Trading activity by non-Omani investors recorded purchases worth RO 4,259,000, representing 13.21 percent of total trading value, while their sales amounted to RO 5,055,000, accounting for 15.68 percent.

    As a result, non-Omani investors registered a net investment outflow of RO 796,000, reflecting a decline of 2.47 percent.
